State Fair general entry competitions now open

Colorado

The Colorado State Fair's General Entry Department encourages Colorado residents of all ages and interests to participate in the 2009 Colorado State Fair through an incredibly diverse menu of competitions.

Each year, there are approximately 6,000 entries for more than 1,500 competitions throughout the General Entry categories including Pantry, Quilts, Needle Arts, Dolls, Porcelain Art, Arts and Crafts, and Floriculture (Potted Plants, Arrangements and Herbs) to name a few.

For a complete list of General Entry competitions, visit http://www.coloradostatefair.com/index.php?page=competitive_premium_book.

Entry forms, deadlines, competition rules and guidelines for each category are available online or may be picked up from the General Entry Office in the Kitchen Craft Hall on the Fairgrounds, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling 719-404-2080.

Colorado State Fair management, in appreciation of those who participate in at least one of the General Entry competitions, is awarding exhibitors the opportunity to purchase 11-day punch cards for $25 each or 5-day punch cards for $15 each. Both cards are valid for gate admission throughout the 2009 Colorado State Fair. This special offer is available exclusively to general entry exhibitors and must be purchased on or before the deadline dates of each competition.
