Juniors parade

champions at 2009 Central

Regional Junior Angus Show

Junior Angus members traveled to Springfield, Mo., to compete in the 2009 Central Regional Junior Angus Show, June 18 to 20. Tyler Cates, Modoc, Ind., evaluated the 177 owned females, 74 bred-and-owned females, 16 bred-and-owned bulls, 15 steers and 14 cow-calf pair before selecting champions.

Nicholas Collison, Lake City, Iowa, led the grand champion owned female, Moffitt Forever Lady M801. The January 2008 daughter of Gambles Hot Rod first won early junior champion.

DAJS Martha 171 won reserve grand champion owned female for Katy Satree, Montague, Texas. She's an April 2008 daughter of Dajs Drover L111, and first claimed late junior champion.

JanLee Rowlett, Hurricane Mills, Tenn., showed the grand champion bred-and-owned female. Duck River Blackcap 714 is a September 2007 daughter of Gambles Burn Out.

WCC Arkdale Pride 8113 captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Paige Wallace, Stotts City, Mo., showed the October 2008 daughter of N Bar Emulation EXT that first won senior calf champion.

Jessica Radcliffe, Schofield, Wis., exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. PVF Proven Queen 786 is a May 2007 daughter of BR Midland. An April 2009 heifer calf sired by CLF Emblazon 24T is at side.

DAJS Mitzie 16 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Satree showed the March 2004 daughter of Leachman Saughatchee 3000C. A March 2009 daughter of Champion Hill Edition 2029 completes the winning pair.

DAJS Revised Edition 212 received grand champion bred-and-owned bull for Satree. He is a February 2008 son of Champion Hill Edition 2029.

Ryan Kinney, Fairfield, Ill., showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Kinney Farms Bismarck 378 is a September 2008 son of S A V Bismarck 5682.

Adam Staudt, Rockford, Iowa, led the grand champion steer, KAF Clair 18. He is an April 2008 son of Century Impressive 84, and weighed in at 1,265 pounds.

Audra Haglund, Boone, Iowa, showed the reserve grand champion steer. L A Chuck 50U-1-6-5 is a March 2008 son of LC Improvement 661, and weighed 1,295 pounds.
