Area wheat farmers are invited to attend a Preplant Wheat Meeting at the Mentor Fire Station in Mentor, Kan., Aug. 19. Coffee and donuts will be available starting at 8:15 a.m., and the program will start at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will adjourn by 10:30 a.m. The meeting is sponsored by K-State Research & Extension-Central Kansas District.
Jim Shroyer, K-State Extension wheat specialist will discuss wheat variety performance in 2009 and variety selection for 2010. Tom Maxwell, district Extension agent will discuss fertilizer decisions for the 2010 wheat crop and results of the 2009 wheat variety plots in Saline County.
