Texhoma FFA members attend reporter workshop

Oklahoma

Six of Texhoma's FFA members attended the Cushing FFA Reporter's Symposium on July 28. The students learned how to improve their writing skills and techniques, how to write a press release, and how to design a newsletter.

The students attending were: President Ryan Dahl, Secretary Jacob Murphy, Treasurer Layton Berry, Reporter Britni Reust, Historian Brittany Beattie, and Sweetheart Randall Pugh.

"I am very glad we had the opportunity to come to this," Dahl said. "I have learned a great deal about writing."

Forty-six students from around the state attended the event.

"I noticed a need for training to give the reporters a boost in their jobs," said Alan Smith, agriculture education instructor.

The Texhoma FFA Chapter includes around 30 members and is advised by Ashley Harrison.
