Ranch horse competition part of Flint Hills Beef Fest

The Ranch Horse Competition will be held Aug. 15 at 10 a.m., in the rodeo area at the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Two classes will be featured this year: 4 years old and younger and 5 years old and older. Horses will be required to do simple reining patterns including boxing a cow at the end of the pen, take cow down fence and turn back twice, rope and drag 20 feet.
A custom bit will be awarded to the high point horse.
