Lexington cattle sales report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,300 head April 17, compared to 750 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to two weeks ago, based on a limited test heifers trended fully steady, with a higher under tone. Steers were too few to establish a trend. Demand and trade activity was moderate to very good. The total receipts consisted of 40% steers and 60% heifers, with 76% of the total offerings weighing over 600 pounds.
