BUSHNELL, Neb. (AP)--Authorities in western Nebraska say 30 head of cattle have died in a crash along Interstate 80 in the state's southern panhandle.
Investigators say the crash happened just after midnight, March 28, near Bushnell when the driver of a cattle truck drifted onto the shoulder of I-80 and overcorrected, causing the trailer to tip onto its side. The Nebraska State Patrol says the trailer slid for 200 feet.
Authorities say the trailer was loaded with 147 head of cattle. Thirty died and four were injured.
Officials say the 51-year-old driver from Burley, Idaho, was not seriously hurt.
