Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,422 head April 6, compared to 911 head last week and 2,230 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $2 higher. Feeder steers were $2 to $3 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were $2 higher, with heifers weighing 500 pounds $2 to $4 higher. Weigh-ups were average to full. Demand for all classes of cattle moderate to good. The supply included 41% steers, 38% heifers, 7% bulls and 25% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 higher. Slaughter bulls sold $2 to $4 higher. Packer demand was moderate to good. A total of 346 cows and bulls sold with 65% going to packers.
