Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,290 head April 8, compared to 940 head last week and 1,250 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Steers lightly tested with no load lots available. Feeder heifers were $3 to $5 higher. Steer and heifer calves were $3 to $4 higher in a limited test. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to gaunt, few full. The supply included 18% steers, 82% heifers with 91% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 58 cows and bulls sold with 52% going to packers.
