Regional Limousin show entries due May 1

The Southeast Summer Classic opens June 12 this year, and the Western Limousin Exposition opens June 18. The Southeastern Limousin Breeders Association again will host the SSC in Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and the WLE will mark its fourth year in Klamath Falls, Ore.

The WLE has confirmed Mike and Wendy Hall of San Luis Obispo, Calif., as its open- and junior-show judges, respectively. The SSC has yet to announce its judges.

Entries for both Medal of Excellence shows are due to the North American Limousin Foundation by May 1. For more information, call NALF at 303-220-1693. Or visit its Internet home page (www.nalf.org) and click the "Programs" link on the left.

Jonathan Perry, 931-433-1895, is the regional contact for the SSC. Dave Berry, 360-769-0639, is the regional contact for the WLE.

In addition, the Heartland Limousin Association will host this year's Heartland Regional Junior Limousin Show in Ottawa, Kan., June 5 and 6. Craig Steck of Omaha, Neb., will officiate. Those entries also are due to NALF by May 1. For more information, contact Dean Summerbell, 612-963-3799.

The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Centennial, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to more than 4,000 members and their commercial customers. The Limousin breed and its Lim-Flex hybrid lead the beef industry in muscle-growth efficiency and ideally complement British breeds.
