Missouri man charged in shooting of 29 cattleMACON, Mo. (AP)--A northern Missouri man has been charged with shooting to death 26 cattle in Macon County. A criminal complaint was filed March 9 against Larry C. McFarland. The 52-year-old Novinger man is charged with one count each of first-degree property damage and armed criminal action. Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson says 29 cattle were shot Jan. 12 in the northwest part of the county. Three survived. The warrant was sent to the Adair County Sheriff's Office to be served on McFarland who is in custody on other charges. Bond on the Macon County charges has been set at $25,000.
