Lexington cattle sales report

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 800 head April 3, compared to 2,500 head last week and 1,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, based on a limited test, steers and heifers trended fully steady. Demand and trade activity was moderate to good. The total receipts consisted of 14% steers and 86% heifers, with 72% of the total offerings weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 454 lbs., 120.00; 562 to 578 lbs., 107.50 to 113.00 (111.69); 6 head, 642 lbs., 102.00) calves; 27 head, 712 lbs., 98.60 calves; 10 head, 852 lbs., 90.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 400 to 405 lbs., 102.00 to 109.00 (104.67); 9 head, 485 lbs., 104.50; 15 head, 507 to 537 lbs., 105.00; 572 to 575 lbs., 106.00 to 106.25 (106.18); 6 head, 640 lbs., 97.00) calves; 600 to 646 lbs., 101.00 to 102.50 (101.31) replacement; 661 to 684 lbs., 92.50 to 96.75 (96.28) calves; 6 head, 690 lbs., 90.75 replacement; 705 to 717 lbs., 90.75 to 92.75 (92.35) calves; 5 head, 758 lbs., 87.75) calves; 770 to 788 lbs., 101.00 to 102.00 (101.27) replacement; 14 head, 895 lbs., 69.00; 862 to 881 lbs., 91.50 to 94.75 (92.86) replacement; 10 head, 991 to 993 lbs., 71.00 to 77.50 (74.25); 8 head, 1006 lbs., 79.50; 17 head, 1070 lbs., 77.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 596 lbs., 96.00.
