CSU College of Agricultural Sciences plans outreach visit to Lamar April 16Colorado Representatives of Colorado State University's College of Agricultural Sciences will be in Lamar, Colo., this month for an outreach visit. The event will be 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 16 at the Best Western Cow Palace. The event will help celebrate the generous support from alumni and friends in Lamar and the surrounding communities. As Colorado's land-grant university, with a rich heritage in agriculture, Colorado State and the College of Agricultural Sciences look to share news from the Fort Collins campus and gather input from interested alumni, friends and students. All interested students are also invited to attend. Representatives from the College's faculty and staff, including Interim Dean Lee Sommers and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Nancy Irlbeck, will be on hand to answer questions. There will be a variety of door prizes including a $500 scholarship to a College of Agricultural Sciences student for the 2009-2010 academic year. Eligible students include incoming freshmen, transfer students or current students in the college. Admission to the event is $5, but students, including college-age students, and children are free. Refreshments will be provided. For reservations or more information, call Katie Boeder, development coordinator with the College of Agricultural Sciences, at 970-491-0993 or e-mail CAS_VIP@mail.colostate.edu.
