Dodge City cattle sales reportDodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 2,627 head Aug. 27, compared to 1,963 head last week and 2,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers and heifers 700 to 950 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, mostly $2 lower, steer and heifers 700 pounds and under not enough for market test, although a lower undertone was noted. Slaughter cows were weak to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls not enough for a market test, the bulk of the supply, low dressing with weaker undertone noted. Receipts included 77% 600 pounds and over, 15% 600 pounds and under, 8% slaughter cows and bulls with 206 head, early. The feeder supply included 80% steers and 20% heifers.
