Bids sharply lower for Sept. 2

Grain and soybean bids were sharply lower for Sept. 2, according to the National Grain Market Summary.

The grain market was pressured by the lower energy markets and higher dollar.

Export inspections for wheat were good coming in at 30.152 million bushels. Weekly export inspections for corn were 33.1 million bushels and soybeans were 7.4 million bushels in line with trade expectations.

Wheat was mostly 25 to 29 cents lower. Corn was 13 to 25 cents lower. Sorghum was mostly 28 to 29 cents lower. Soybeans were 20 to 35 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $8.11 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.61, down 28 cents; Minneapolis, $8.40 1/4, down 29 1/2 cents; Portland, $7.75 to $7.95, down 25 to 33 cents; St. Louis, $5.17, down 26 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.36 to $5.39, down 22 to 19 cents; Minneapolis, $4.95 1/4, down 25 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.02 1/4 to $5.12 1/4, down 15 3/4 to 17 cents; Omaha, $5.39 to $5.40, down 13 to 15 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.24, down 25 cents; Minneapolis, $12.08 1/2, down 35 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $12.43 1/2 to $12.58 1/2, down 20 1/2 to 35 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.03 1/2 to $13.18 1/2, down 25 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 2, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.71 1/4 to $8.24 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $8.13 1/4 to $8.31 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $8.21 1/4 to $8.41 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $8.28 1/4 to $8.43 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $6.13 1/4 to $7.03 1/4, down 28 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $5.76 to $5.87, down 26 to 32 cents.
