Angus champions selected at 2008 Iowa State FairIowa Angus entries competed for top honors at the 2008 Iowa State Fair Open Angus Show, Aug. 12 in Des Moines. Randy Daniel, Colbert, Ga., evaluated the 169 entries, which included 134 females, 28 bulls and seven cow-calf pairs. DA ES RO Crossover 7131 971N claimed grand champion bull honors. DA-ES-RO Angus Farms, Columbus Junction, Iowa and Clayton Hester, New Sharon, Iowa, own the September 2007 son of BT Crossover 758N. He first claimed senior calf champion. RRA New Design 6709 was named reserve grand champion bull. Rock'n R Angus Ranch, Plainville, Kan., and Woodruff Angus Farm, Milton, Iowa, own the September 2006 son of Bon View New Design 878 that earlier won senior champion. Moffitt Pride Lucy M702 captured grand champion female and junior champion for Jeremy Arends, Ackley, Iowa. She's a February 2007 daughter of Exar Lutton 1831. Tyler Henderson, Drakesville, Iowa, claimed reserve grand champion female. Tylers Dusty Sara Plus 6004 is a September 2006 daughter of Henderson Famous Plus 051 and first won senior champion. Courtney Jass, Garner, Iowa, claimed the grand champion cow-calf pair. S H Raptors Rose Lee 6460 is a March 2006 daughter of Dameron P V F Raptor 702. A February 2008 bull calf sired by Exar Lutton 1831 is at side. Kourtney Nelson, Crete, Neb., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. TC Blackbird 2078 is a February 2002 daughter of TC Foreman 016. A March 2008 heifer calf sired by Northern Improvement 4480 GF is at side. 9/8/08 Date: 9/3/08
