Presho cattle sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 4,400 head Sept. 18, compared to 4,204 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly $2 to $4 lower. All feeders were off grass. The offering included 45% steers, 55% heifers, with 100% 600 pounds and over.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 617 lbs., 114.50; 48 head, 722 lbs., 108.50; 753 to 793 lbs., 105.25 to 110.00 (107.59); 811 to 840 lbs., 105.50 to 107.75 (107.11); 855 to 893 lbs., 103.85 to 108.60 (107.28); 922 to 948 lbs., 103.10 to 105.85 (104.77); 955 to 962 lbs., 102.60 to 104.75 (103.71); 1043 to 1049 lbs., 100.25 to 101.25 (101.02). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 817 lbs., 101.00l 894 to 898 lbs., 102.35. Large frame 1, 13 head, 1129 lbs., 94.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 704 to 745 lbs., 102.00 to 106.00 (104.04); 751 to 798 lbs., 99.75 to 105.35 (104.38); 800 to 845 lbs., 100.00 to 105.60 (103.26); 859 to 888 lbs., 101.50 to 104.75 (103.32); 906 to 921 lbs., 99.00 to 102.10 (101.28); 12 head, 967 lbs., 99.75; 1012 to 1042 lbs., 98.25 to 99.50 (99.38). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 22 head, 600 lbs., 106.00; 6 head, 674 lbs., 104.75.
