Ogallala livestock salesThe Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 2,200 head Sept. 18, compared to 3,300 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Comparable offerings were too few to establish an adequate market trend. Although based on a very narrow test a definite lower undertone should be noted. Demand was light to moderate. Steers accounted for 24% and heifers 76% of the offering, with 85% over 600 pounds.
