Indiana farmer looking for vandals who destroyed corn crop/H3>

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (AP)--A northeast Indiana farmer says someone drove a tractor through his corn field, destroying about $50,000 worth of crop.

Zach Hiner says he discovered the damage Sept. 7 on his farm near Huntington, about 20 miles southwest of Fort Wayne.

He says as much as 20 to 30 acres of his 50 acres of corn was destroyed. The corn was about three weeks away from being harvested.

Hiner reported the vandalism to police and is offering a $5,000 reward to catch the vandals.

He says he has no idea why someone would want to destroy his crop.
