Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 1,041 head Sept. 22, compared to 510 head last week and 1,674 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week's light run, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady. Buyer attendance was good, with moderate demand. Slaughter cows and bulls sold with a weaker undertone when compared to last week's light supply. The supply consisted of approximately 16% slaughter cows and bulls, 84% feeders. The feeder supply included 13% steers; 87% heifers, with 100% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 661 lbs., 102.50; 8 head, 770 lbs., 105.25; 32 head, 964 lbs., 101.75; 56 head, 1044 lbs., 98.25. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 639 lbs., 105.00; 716 to 723 lbs., 103.50 to 104.00 (103.64); 22 head, 752 lbs., 102.00; 818 to 833 lbs., 102.35; 60 head, 860 lbs., 102.10; 903 to 929 lbs., 98.25 to 100.75 (99.66); 15 head, 950 lbs., 98.00; 52 head, 1024 lbs., 96.85. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 750 lbs., 96.00; 13 head, 838 lbs., 100.75; 11 head, 891 to 895 lbs., 97.75 to 98.50 (97.89); 7 head, 906 to 933 lbs., 95.75 to 96.75 (96.04). Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1327 to 1797 lbs., 55.75 to 57.75. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1135 to 1640 lbs., 55.00 to 58.50; high dressing, 58.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 48.00 to 51.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1030 to 1450 lbs., 50.50 to 55.75; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 44.50 to 49.00.
