Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,400 head Sept. 20, compared to 3,500 head two weeks ago and 1,825 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to two weeks ago, yearling steers over 800 pounds trended fairly steady, with a $4 to $5 drop in heifers over 750 pounds. Receipts consisted of 26% steers and 74% heifers, with nearly 100% of the offerings over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 722 to 748 lbs., 108.75 to 109.50 (109.06); 14 head, 760 to 781 lbs., 110.75 to 111.50 (111.12); 804 to 837 lbs., 106.75 to 110.25 (109.19); 860 to 899 lbs., 104.75 to 108.50 (107.71); 920 to 938 lbs., 105.25 to 108.75 (107.37); 52 head, 951 lbs., 107.10.
