Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,510 head Sept. 18, compared to 1,304 head last week and 4,012 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 500 pounds were steady to $2 lower, a firm undertone on those over 500 pounds compared to limited receipts last week. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower. Trade was active. Demand was moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 975-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 20% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, replacement cows 3%, and feeders 75%. The feeder supply included 45% steers and 55% heifers, with nearly 51% of the run over 600 pounds.
