Aberdeen cattle sales reportThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 1,129 head Sept. 24, compared to 1,222 head last week and 2,500 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 higher. Steers comprised 55% of the run, heifers 45%, with 81% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 490 lbs., 117.00; 18 head, 599 lbs., 111.00; 19 head, 607 to 645 lbs., 112.00 to 114.50 (113.41); 18 head, 676 to 679 lbs., 99.00 to 100.75 (100.16); 704 to 722 lbs., 107.00 to 112.00 (110.46); 868 to 884 lbs., 108.50 to 109.00 (108.93); 64 head, 904 lbs., 108.60; 969 to 975 lbs., 101.10 to 103.85 (101.56). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 671 lbs., 93.75; 6 head, 911 lbs., 98.00. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 10 head, 347 lbs., 300.00 per head; 26 head, 370 lbs., 310.00 per head; 29 head, 427 lbs., 81.00; 9 head, 497 lbs., 78.00; 17 head, 544 lbs., 76.00.
