Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,117 head Sept. 15, compared to 2,405 head last week and 2,486 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3% of the offering and feeders 97%. The feeder supply included 73% steers, 26% heifers and 1% bulls, with nearly 78% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
