Texhoma livestock salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 160 head Sept. 17, compared to 536 head last week and 1,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder cattle and calves were not well tested due to light receipts. Demand was good for limited numbers. Slaughter cows were not well tested. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 36 cows and bulls sold with 80% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 537 lbs., 118.00; 5 head, 641 lbs., 111.00; 11 head, 942 lbs., 97.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 32 head, 707 lbs., 104.50; 11 head, 858 lbs., 98.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 369 lbs., 107.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 4 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 54.50. Boners, 4 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 54.00 to 56.00; high dressing, 57.00. Lean, 5 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 52.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 50.50 to 51.00. Light, 3 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 44.50 to 47.50.
