Superior video auction report

The Superior Video Auction reported receipts of 142,900 head Sept. 12, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to the last sale, trade and demand were light for yearlings and heavy calves bound for feedlots and light to moderate for lighter offerings bound for forage-based feeding programs. The supply includes 43% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 58% of supply were steers and 42% heifers. Prices FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries current through March 2009.
