Springfield livestock sales reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,502 head Sept. 10, compared to 1,197 head last week and 2,290 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers were steady to $3 lower, heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Holsteins compared to a light test last week, under 800 pounds were steady to $2 higher, over 800 pounds were steady. Demand was moderate to light, supply moderate. The offering consisted of an equal amount of calves and yearlings, with each covering the full spectrum of quality and condition. The feeder supply included 37% steers, 25% Holsteins, 29% heifers, 10% bulls, with 49% over 600 pounds.
