Salina livestock sales reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 3,170 head Sept. 11, compared to 2,790 head last week and 2,921 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers and heifers at 300 to 550 pounds were not tested. Steers at 550 to 750 pounds were steady to $2 higher, and 750 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 lower. Heifers at 550 to 700 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, and at 700 to 950 pounds were $1 to $2 lower. Trade and demand was good. Receipts included 93% over 600 pounds, 6% under 600 and 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply included 74% steers and 26% heifers.
