Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 3,230 head, Sept. 11, compared to 2,907 head, last week and 1,839 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 700 to 950 pounds were steady to $3 lower, and the bulk of trade were $1 to $2 lower. Heifers at 600 to 700 pounds showed no comparison with last week, but a lower undertone was noted, and those at 700 to 950 pounds were steady to $2 lower. Steers at 700 pounds and heifers at 600 pounds and under were not enough for a market test, but a lower undertone was noted. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 higher. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 88% over 600 pounds, 5% under 600 pounds and 7% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 68% steers and 32% heifers.
