North Arkansas livestock sales reportThe North Arkansas Livestock, Green Forest, Ark., reported receipts of 1,394 head Sept. 17, compared to 1,631 head last year, according to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, there were no trends as the sale was not reported the last two weeks. The supply included about 799 feeders, 411 yearlings, 76 replacement cows, 100 slaughter cows, and 8 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply included 48% steers, 34% heifers, and 18% bulls, with nearly 34% of the run over 600 pounds. Prices follow with weighted average price in parenthesis. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 54.00 to 56.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 50.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 55.00 to 58.75. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 48.00 to 52.50; low dressing, 39.00 to 42.00.
