Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Sept. 15, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $7.27, up 7 3/4 cents; December corn, $5.62, down 1 1/4 cents; and November soybeans, $11.79, down 23 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $7.98 1/2 to $8.08 1/2, up 4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.02 to $6.27, up 7 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $6.13 to $6.14, down 2 1/4 to 1 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $10.04 to $10.13, down 2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $9.50 to $9.67 3/4, down 2 1/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $12.39 to $12.54. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $6.45. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.58 to $6.90. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was 29 cents lower, at $5.60. In north central Colorado, wheat was $6.44 to $6.63. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $6.17 to $6.46. In east central Colorado, wheat was $6.27 to $6.67. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $6.19 to $6.40. In south central Colorado, wheat was $5.72. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $6.18 to $6.29. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 30 cents lower and $4.93 to $5.25 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $4.66 to $5.25. In east central Colorado, corn was $4.86 to $4.88. In southeast Colorado, corn was $4.82 to $5.12. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $4.57 to $5.12 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 54 cents lower at $7.48 to $7.98 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 55 cents lower at $9.79 to $10.13 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $7.50 to $8.50 per cwt., mostly $8. Sunflowers were $21 to $24 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $4.93 to $5.62 per bushel. Barley was steady at $8.50. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were mostly $40 per cwt.
