Crop production numbers released Sept. 12Oklahoma Production of corn for grain is now forecast at 42.9 million bushels, up 3 percent from last month and 10 percent above 2007, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Oklahoma Field Office. An average yield of 134.0 bushels is expected from 320,000 harvested acres. Production of all cotton is now forecast at 290,000 bales, the same as last month but 3 percent above 2007. An average yield of 898 pounds is expected from 155,000 harvested acres. Production of grain sorghum is now forecast at 12.0 million bushels, the same as last month but 6 percent below 2007. An average yield of 46 bushels is expected from 260,000 harvested acres. Peanut production is now forecast at 68.4 million pounds, up 29 percent from last month and 18 percent above 2007. An average yield of 3,800 pounds is expected from 18,000 harvested acres. Soybean production is now forecast at 7.7 million bushels, up 8 percent from last month and 83 percent above last year.
