Colorado feeder cattle reportThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 1,676 head Sept. 12, compared to 2,991 head last week and 4,675 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady with very limited offerings. Demand was moderate to good. Buyers continue to show increased interest in yearling cattle coming off grass. Auction numbers were slow to pick up due to ample rain in late summer and early fall. The rain gave the grass one last kick and everyone is trying to put every last pound on that they can. The supply was made up of 61% feeder steers, 39% feeder heifers and the balance feeder bulls, with about 65% of total feeder supply over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 280 to 295 lbs., 137.00 to 138.50; 310 to 345 lbs., 132.00 to 137.00; 355 to 360 lbs., 134.50 to 135.00; 400 to 440 lbs., 125.00 to 132.00; 450 to 495 lbs., 122.00 to 131.00; 505 to 540 lbs., 116.50 to 123.50; 550 to 560 lbs., 115.00 to 116.00; 603 lbs., 112.00; 700 to 760 lbs., 112.50 to 113.75; 810 to 850 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00; 905 to 950 lbs., 100.50 to 104.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 126.50 to 130.50; 405 to 445 lbs., 122.50 to 129.00; 515 to 570 lbs., 113.00 to 115.50; 772 lbs., 109.00; 800 to 810 lbs., 102.50 to 108.75; 925 to 965 lbs., 106.10 to 107.00.
