Colorado Corn hosts district meetings

Colorado

Colorado Corn Growers Association and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee will host a meeting for corn producers in the western counties of Colorado that comprise District 8 for the two organizations, which includes all counties west of the continental divide.

The meeting is set for Sept. 23, at 7 a.m., at the Best Western Sundance, 903 Main Street, in Delta.

At the meetings, attendees will hear about truth and misconceptions of ethanol, discuss other ag issues, and learn about the work and projects of the two organizations. Board member nominations will be received for the Growers Association and elections will take place for the Administrative Committee representatives. Meals will be provided free of charge.

"This is a dynamic and critical period in history, with the renewable energy revolution in its infancy," said Mark Sponsler, CEO of the organizations. "For the first time in decades, we're seeing a significant bump in commodity prices due to increased demand." It's long over-due for agriculture, but there are growing pains and challenges."

Current members who bring new members for the meeting will be entered into a drawing to receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant in their District.

The Colorado Corn Growers Association and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee promote the interests of more than 3,000 corn producers through market development, communications, research, and technical assistance. See more about the work of both organizations at the www.coloradocorn.com website, or call the joint office at (970) 351-8201 for more information.
