West Plains regional livestock salesThe Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 3,700 head Sept. 9, compared to 2,130 head last week and 4,500 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 600 pounds were steady to $2 lower, heifers under 600 pounds were steady to $3 lower, steers and heifers over 600 pounds were steady. The heaviest discounts on the un-weaned, fleshy, and plainer calves. Demand and supply were moderate. The feeder supply included 41% steers, 02% Holsteins, 44% heifers, 14% bulls, with 47% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 325 to 375 lbs., 134.50 to 136.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 122.00 to 131.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 115.00 to 120.50; 600 to 675 lbs., 116.50 to 118.50, calves 100.00 to 108.00; 700 to 725 lbs., 110.00 to 112.00.
