Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,015 head Sept. 8, compared to 3,188 head two weeks ago and 3,300 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to two weeks ago, stocker steers were $2 to $4 higher. Stocker heifers were $1 to $3 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower. Demand was very good on lightweight cattle and good on all classes. Weigh-ups were mostly average, few full. There was good attendance of buyers along with high incidence No. 1 cattle. Receipts were comprised of 45% steers, 39% heifers, 16% bulls, with 28% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows sold $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were $4 lower. Trade was active on high yielding cows. A total of 311 cows and bulls sold with 66% going to packers.
