Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,405 head Sept. 8, compared to 2,760 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 7% of the offering, replacement cows 1%, and feeders 92%. The feeder supply included 56% steers, 40% heifers and 4% bulls, with nearly 69% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
