Ogallala feeder cattle sale

The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 5,850 head Sept. 4, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

There was no comparison due to a lack of a recent market test. Demand was moderate to very good for good quality offerings coming off grass. Flesh scores were average and weigh-in conditions were in the buyer's favor. Steers accounted for 48% and heifers 52% of the offerings, with 97% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 577 lbs., 122.50 to 124.00 (122.70); 600 to 648 lbs., 116.50 to 123.75 (120.43); 654 to 666 lbs., 115.50 to 120.75 (119.09); 708 to 737 lbs., 115.50 to 117.00 (115.65); 754 to 782 lbs., 112.50 to 114.60 (113.76); 806 to 830 lbs., 111.25 to 117.00 (113.08); 852 to 898 lbs., 107.50 to 112.00 (109.53); 910 to 944 lbs., 106.25 to 109.60 (108.56); 952 to 988 lbs., 106.00 to 108.60 (107.82); 1020 to 1039 lbs., 104.10 to 107.10 (106.70). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 38 head, 502 lbs., 122.75; 12 head, 626 lbs., 113.50; 33 head, 754 lbs., 107.75; 807 to 846 lbs., 106.50 to 109.00 (108.65); 24 head, 850 lbs., 106.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 575 to 587 lbs., 111.00 to 113.00 (111.42); 603 to 643 lbs., 110.00 to 114.25 (113.69); 651 to 694 lbs., 107.00 to 111.85 (109.40); 700 to 739 lbs., 109.10 to 115.10 (112.90); 750 to 797 lbs., 105.00 to 110.75 (108.44); 800 to 845 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00 (106.56); 856 to 896 lbs., 102.50 to 106.25 (104.81); 901 to 939 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00 (103.81); 972 to 999 lbs., 99.50 to 104.00 (102.14). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 15 head, 590 lbs., 109.50; 718 to 745 lbs., 105.50 to 108.00 (106.10).
