Missouri Farmers Union announces FFA essay contestMissouri Five hundred dollars in prize money will be awarded to the FFA members who submit the winning essays on the topic of renewable energy, in the annual Missouri Farmers Union FFA Essay Contest. The contest, with a topic entitled "The Sustainability of an Economy Based on Renewable Energy," is open to any FFA member who submits an original essay by Oct. 15. "We are excited to offer this opportunity for FFA members to be rewarded for their creativity while exploring the importance of renewable energy in Missouri rural communities and providing opportunity for the next generation of rural leaders," said MFU President Russ Kremer. Participants must be enrolled in high school vocational agriculture classes and be current Missouri FFA members. Winning essays will include experiences and/or visions from the students' personal perspective and community involvement. Entries must be 500 to 750 words and must be postmarked by Oct. 15.
