Lexington cattle sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 3,600 head Sept. 5, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, based on a limited test, comparable offerings traded steady to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Receipts consisted of 40% steers and 60% heifers with 99% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 573 lbs., 117.50; 10 head, 627 lbs., 117.00; 651 to 697 lbs., 115.00 to 117.25 (116.61); 713 to 725 lbs., 117.25 to 120.00 (117.53); 145 head, 764 lbs., 114.00; 810 to 840 lbs., 110.35 to 112.50 (110.48); 67 head, 872 lbs., 111.60; 55 head, 942 lbs., 107.75; 957 to 976 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00 (108.89).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 573 lbs., 110.00; 635 to 648 lbs., 107.50 to 108.50 (108.37); 652 to 681 lbs., 107.50 to 110.50 (110.05); 713 to 745 lbs., 105.75 to 110.00 (108.11); 760 to 799 lbs., 105.85 to 110.10 (108.88); 811 to 828 lbs., 102.50 to 109.60 (107.68); 887 to 892 lbs., 102.50 to 105.50 (104.96); 900 to 926 lbs., 105.10 to 106.50 (105.77); 60 head, 994 lbs., 98.85.
