High Plains slaughter newsHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Sept. 7, totaled 161,921 head, compared to 173,827 head last week and 117,663 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
