Ericson cattle sales report

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 3,500 head Sept. 6, compared to 2,400 head two weeks ago and 3,100 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder cattle trended $2 to $3 lower. The run consisted of good quality grass yearlings with fair to moderate demand. Receipts consisted of 45% steers and 55% heifers, 99% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 53 head, 690 lbs., 112.85; 10 head, 715 lbs., 113.00; 750 to 790 lbs., 109.00 to 111.50 (110.89); 70 head, 880 lbs., 110.25; 901 to 932 lbs., 107.35 to 112.10 (110.18); 966 to 997 lbs., 107.30 to 108.10 (107.82); 1002 to 1010 lbs., 107.30. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 572 lbs., 111.50; 11 head, 696 lbs., 112.50; 16 head, 724 lbs., 108.00; 7 head, 866 lbs., 104.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 551 to 578 lbs., 108.50 to 112.00 (109.63); 21 head, 636 lbs., 109.75; 663 to 693 lbs., 108.00 to 113.00 (108.72); 721 to 749 lbs., 108.00 to 111.75 (109.90); 755 to 799 lbs., 104.00 to 110.50 (107.46); 800 to 831 lbs., 106.35 to 110.00 (109.16); 9 head, 876 lbs., 105.25; 914 to 937 lbs., 103.25 to 103.75 (103.52); 52 head, 969 lbs., 103.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 657 to 696 lbs., 104.50 to 109.00 (105.66).
