Dodge City cattle sales report

Dodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., reported receipts of 1,532 head Sept. 3, compared to 2,627 head last week and 2,268 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, steers at 700 to 900 pounds and heifers at 700 to 800 pounds were $2 to $3 higher in a limited supply. Steers and heifers at 700 pounds and under were not enough for a market test but limited sales were firm. The feeder supply included 68% steers and 32% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 366 to 388 lbs., 141.00 to 146.00 (144.20); 8 head, 469 lbs., 134.50; 7 head, 680 lbs., 109.00 calves; 705 to 739 lbs., 115.50 to 116.75 (116.18); 62 head, 751 lbs., 114.25; 808 to 821 lbs., 114.35 to 115.00 (114.66); 13 head, 850 lbs., 109.50; 5 head, 933 lbs., 108.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 446 lbs., 124.00; 15 head, 550 to 595 lbs., 115.00 to 117.50 (116.38); 30 head, 613 lbs., 115.75; 21 head, 783 lbs., 108.25. Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 484 lbs., 124.00; 5 head, 590 to 597 lbs., 108.50 to 111.00 (109.99); 6 head, 718 lbs., 108.50; 35 head, 895 lbs., 103.10; 43 head, 900 lbs., 104.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 717 to 747 lbs., 107.75 to 109.25 (108.99); 92 head, 751 lbs., 108.00; 9 head, 915 lbs., 102.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 368 to 370 lbs., 114.00; 621 to 640 lbs., 102.50 to 109.75 (107.37); 39 head, 671 lbs., 109.75; 18 head, 701 lbs., 103.25; 17 head, 821 to 835 lbs., 101.00 to 101.75 (101.44).
