Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Commission Co., Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,002 head Sept. 4, compared to 1,581 head last week and 1,547 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Breaker and boner cows were firm, lean cows were $1 to $2 lower. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 950-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 23% of the offering, slaughter bulls 1%, replacement cows 2%, and feeders 74%. The feeder supply included 41% steers and 59% heifers, with nearly 56% of the run over 600 pounds. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, package 263 lbs., pre-conditioned 165.00; package 357 lbs., 135.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00, two packages 455 to 495 lbs., 115.00; package 500 lbs., fleshy 113.00, 500 to 600 lbs., 117.00 to 118.50; 600 to 700 lb. calves 108.50 to 111.00; few 700 to 800 lb. calves 105.50 to 106.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 106.00 to 109.00.
