Watertown cattle sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 850 head Aug. 27, compared to 500 head last week, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder heifers were steady. No trends were available on feeder steers as none were sold last week. The offering included 51% feeder steers, 49% feeder heifers, with 97% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 597 lbs., 119.00; 10 head, 801 lbs., 111.75; 20 head, 928 lbs., 107.60; 1070 to 1072 lbs., 103.00 to 103.10 (103.09); 52 head, 1148 lbs., 101.00; 1151 to 1172 lbs., 100.40 to 101.00 (100.71). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 553 lbs., 112.00; 1000 to 1023 lbs., 98.75 to 102.00 (101.12); 9 head, 1111 lbs., 102.40; 1173 to 1185 lbs., 93.90 to 96.85 (95.10); 40 head, 1209 lbs., 97.85. Large frame 1, 36 head, 1287 lbs., 96.20. Medium frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 856 lbs., 96.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 646 lbs., 114.00 calves; 9 head, 703 lbs., 110.00; 875 to 890 lbs., 106.60; 69 head, 904 lbs., 104.80; 31 head, 1015 lbs., 96.20; 17 head, 1179 lbs., 94.70 . Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 887 lbs., 100.00; 983 to 988 lbs., 93.50 to 93.85 (93.82); 11 head, 1138 lbs., 91.00.
