Water system cuts dealPIERRE, S.D. (AP)--The Bureau of Reclamation and the Mid Dakota Rural Water System have agreed to modify the system's loan contract. Changes in the loan repayment schedule will help Mid Dakota finance a $15 million expansion project. The water system was authorized in 1992 to provide water in 13 South Dakota counties, covering about 7,000 square miles. Mid Dakota placed a moratorium on new hookups about a year and a half ago because of demands that were taxing its water capacity. Recently, Mid Dakota began to add hookups from a list of 150 on a waiting list. The syst em has received a $1 million state loan and is seeking additional financing from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 9/1/08 Date: 8/27/08 Advertisement
