Texhoma livestock salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 600 head Aug. 27, compared to 200 head last week and 1,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, there was no recent test on feeders to test trends but a lower undertone was noted. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was moderate for feeders, good for calves. The supply included 43% steers, 54% heifers with 70% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 lower. A total of 75 cows and bulls sold with 86% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 306 lbs., 140.00; 5 head, 402 lbs., 142.00; 515 to 535 lbs., 121.00; 5 head, 568 lbs., 125.00; 12 head, 631 to 645 lbs., 115.50 to 118.00 (116.94); 735 to 741 lbs., 112.50 to 113.00 (112.52); 63 head, 800 lbs., 110.25; 5 head, 883 lbs., 107.50.
