Springfield livestock sales reportThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,021 head Aug. 20, compared to 1,850 head last week and 2,163 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 700 pounds were steady to $2 lower, and over 700 pounds were $1 to $3 lower. Holsteins under 750 pounds were not well tested, and over 750 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Heifers were steady. Demand and supply were moderate. A wean-vac sale was held in conjunction with the regular feeder cattle sale. The supply included 42% steers, 06% Holsteins, 41% heifers, 11% bulls, with 59% over 600 pounds.
