Springfield livestock salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 1,903 head Aug. 27, compared to 2,021 head last week and 1,763 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers under 550 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, over 550 pounds were unevenly steady. Holsteins steady compared to light test last week, heifers were $1 to $3 lower. Demand and supply were moderate. Several spring born bull and heifer calves in the offering along with the usual supply of yearlings. The feeder supply included 31% steers, 21% Holsteins, 33% heifers, 16% bulls, with 46% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 500 lbs., 117.00 to 122.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 117.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 109.00 to 118.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 105.00 to 111.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 102.50 to 110.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 108.00 to 124.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 105.00 to 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 102.00 to 112.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 101.00 to 108.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 102.00 to 106.50.
