Sheep shearing, wool spinning events set for Kansas State Fair

The fourth year of the ever popular sheep shearing by shepherd Joe Abeldt and the art of wool spinning will be demonstrated at the Kansas State Fair Sheep Barn, starting at 9 a.m., every two hours Sept. 6 to 10. Kids will love to touch the fresh sheared sheep and talk to Joe.

At the Pride of Kansas Building, the Kansas Sheep Council will showcase the "Best Kept Secret," a taste of American lamb. For nine days there will be lamb samples, wool spinning, wool products and the popular kids educational programs by the knowledgeable sheep producer, Sheila Corn.
